Project Overview
MesoRealm is a companion app for D&D groups, built for the time between game sessions. Most groups track this stuff in spreadsheets or scattered chat threads. MesoRealm gives them a place instead: a firelit night market camp where players shop, craft, write in-character letters, track their coin, and schedule the next session. The Game Master runs the camp from their own dashboard. Players get their own view of it.
I built this alone, on purpose. It was a learning project, a chance to move from design work into building a real application end to end. I directed the art and generated it with AI tools using a custom style I locked in myself. Then I built the app in VS Code with Claude as a coding partner, making every architectural decision along the way: how the data is structured, how security rules protect it, how the app stays in sync in real time.

See the Results
The camp feels alive rather than functional. Scenes shift with weather and time of day, all running on one system that reads a different config for each location instead of duplicating code. Six crafting disciplines, a merchant economy with real currency and reputation, and an in-character mail system give groups a reason to come back between sessions.
The biggest gain was learning Firebase from the ground up: security rules, storage rules, real-time data, and handling conflicts when several people write at once. I know the whole architecture because I made every call in it. Visit the Landing Page.
